Dance Program Descriptions
Ballet – This is the basis of all the art forms in dance. The student will be rewarded with grace and confidence while learning fluid and technical movements. Dancers concentrate on their “centers” and work on the body’s proper alignment for this art form.
Tap - is a form of dance characterized by a tapping sound that is created from metal plates that are attached to both the ball and heel of the dancer's shoe. Combinations of rhythm patterns are learned and progress in level of difficulty continues as the dancer’s ability increases.
Jazz (Modern) – This is a free movement form of dance, infused with technique and purpose. The dancer learns proper body alignment and builds strength, while being allowed to move more freely than in ballet, expressing themselves through larger movements.
Lyrical – This form is a combination of ballet and jazz dancing, lending itself to the interpretation of the music through slower continuous movements, utilizing the grander steps produced in jazz/modern.
Move It Baby (boys class)
The goals of these classes are to provide an introduction to and foundation for the basics of various styles of dance as well as working on balance, motor skills, sequencing, coordination, and class unity.
Broadway Jazz – This style is similar to jazz dancing with its style and movements, but uses Broadway music to enhance the acting and storytelling through dance steps.
WOW Factor Class - This class will teach its students to develop a sense of confidence and individuality to their dancing while having fun doing it. It incorporates various dance styles (ex: hip-hop, break dancing, etc), and takes it to the next level. Unlike many other established dance techniques, there is no right or wrong way to perform a dance move taught in this class.

Pre-school Rhythm & Movement (toddlers) –The goals of these classes are to provide an introduction to and foundation for the basics of various styles of dance (tap, jazz & ballet), as well as working on balance, motor skills, sequencing, coordination, and class unity. These skills will assist the child’s growth in future dance classes.
‘Happy Feet’ classes for children with special needs –The goal of this class is to help train the students in movement and physical activity with healthy exercise and energy. The students will learn about body awareness, sequencing, and basics in rhythm and dance.
