HOLIday Show Traveling Troupe
Dear Students and Parents!
How exciting…. We are booking gigs at senior centers, friendship clubs and rehab centers! The list of venues will be posted on the wall at the studio for sign up, we will supply location, please try to do as many as you can. Our first gig is the day after Thanksgiving!
As these gigs approach please keep in mind the following:
We are trying to have as few chaperones as possible to alleviate the amount of non-performers and cars at each facility. You might want to come up with a schedule with a group of students and each parent gets a turn. As we did last year, Miss Eileen, Miss Michele and Miss Ria all have room in their cars and will happily take your child.
We are trying to find a venue that we can do this whole show for friends and family at a nominal price. This way parents, grandparents, and friends can get into the spirit. TBD…….
Our performers became much more comfortable with our senior citizens and/or special needs adults as they performed last year. This made us very proud. We have some new students in our troupe. I will need their parent to explain that these people are so excited to see these performers. They sing along and reach out to the students. Please know that it is all with good intentions. Our staff will watch our performers from when they get into the car until they are done and delivered. We will watch your child as if they are our own.
Last, this is not easy. Your child will rehearse the rest of the month until our first gig. They will be tired of Christmas music. The dances will seem monotonous. This is the life of a professional performer. Please remember this a community service. This is not for the parent to watch nor take videos/pictures. We want to slip in, do a great job, invoke the Holiday spirit, and slip out. We should not be a burden or an annoyance to these venues.
Snow man costume will be receiving their hat with elastic next week. Red/silver and marabou costume is NOT a long skirt. It is a short skirt. Red specialty costume is a short tutu costume. Any girl changing costume is encouraged to wear a nude bodysuit under their costumes for ease of changing, but not mandatory. We have a portable changing screen. Suntan tights, black or suntan shoes (our official color for tap shoes is black) Hair can be in bun or high ponytail. We will do a stage cosmetic makeup class near the end of November. PLEASE PUT YOUR NAME IN SHOES, COSTUMES AND ACCESSORIES!!
We want to personally thank you in advance for your understanding and for adhering to our requests.
